Dave Steele
President

As CEO of Western Canadian Construction Company LTD, Dave Steele leads the vision for the company. Over the past 30 years, the team has actively developed and renovated over 100 projects with over 12,000 properties throughout Alberta, BC & the Western United States. The company prides itself on its attention to detail and its ability to deliver high-quality projects on time and on budget.Mr. Steele has been actively involved in the growth of the Entrepreneurs Organization (EO), a non-profit organization which now has over 11,000 members worldwide. In 1993/94, Mr. Steele served as EO’s International president. Dave has a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in finance from the University of Calgary.

Jim Ferrie
Vice President

Prior to joining Western Canadian Construction Company, Jim Ferrie was the President of James Alexander Construction (JAC). JAC specialized in commercial building and completed many projects including the construction and renovation of municipal buildings, ice arenas, and distribution warehouses. Through his years as president of JAC, Jim worked with major clients including The City of Vancouver, Costco, Safeway, and Brookfield Lepage Johnson Controls.Jim was responsible for overseeing all aspects of development, construction, sales and marketing of the 62 unit award winning beachfront development, Qualicum Landing. Jim’s direct involvement in this project helped Qualicum Landing win 14 Construction Achievements and Renovations of Excellence awards and 3 Georgie awards including the Grand Georgie Award for the Best Residential Community in B.C. Since then, Mr. Ferrie has been responsible for overseeing the development and construction for the Western Canadian Properties Group Ltd and Western Canadian Construction Company Ltd.

John Bean
CFO

John Bean, Chief Financial Officer, is a financial executive who brings strong financial management and controls to the organization.Under his leadership, Western Canadian construction company Ltd has developed excellent construction financing programs, allowing the company to be extremely competitive in its pricing. John has served on numerous boards and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia and is a CPA (BC), CA.

Trevor Doyle
Manager of Planning

Trevor has a diploma in Architectural Building and Engineering Technology, a diploma in Urban Land Economics, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce. Trevor began his career with Ledcor Construction, working first in estimating, and later in project management. He also helped to develop and implement Ledcor’s company wide Construction Quality Program while working on several building projects, including the award winning Jim Pattison Lexus & Jim Pattison Toyota in Victoria, BC (Commercial Building Awards, 2015).Since Joining Western Canadian, Trevor has been involved with the development of over 300 doors and over 50 residential land subdivisions across 13 separate projects. Trevor’s focus on relationships and business development has helped facilitate a professional rapport with municipalities and consultants alike.

Frank Bouma
Senior Site Superintendent

Frank joined Western Canadian Construction Company LTD in the spring of 2014. From an early age Frank knew he wanted to be in construction and became a red sealed journeymen carpenter in 1982. Since then he has been involved in a variety of positions as a carpenter, foremen, site superintendent and project manager.He brings a vast knowledge of single family and multi-family residential, commercial, industrial and institutional construction. He has built numerous high end homes with the latest in innovation and technology. He has led projects that consist of suspended slabs, tilt-up concrete panels, steel construction with insulated panels, civil work and LEED Gold buildings. Prior to joining Western Canadian Construction, Frank worked as a lead superintendent for Windley Contracting on Vancouver Island and before that he was a developer on his own projects.

Wade Schroh
Site Superintendent

Throughout his 35 year career, Wade has proven proficient in all facets of construction. He has built custom homes, multi family structures, hospitals, and government buildings in the high Canadian Arctic and Territories. This variety of building styles has given Wade the knowledge to problem solve very effectively.Wade’s leadership, schedule management, and attention to quality all bring enormous strength to the team. He manages all projects is if they were his very own with much care and attention to detail. In today’s fast economy, it is nice to know that there are still people who are accountable and take pride in their work.

Lorry Chernoff
Site Superintendent

Lorry’s construction career began with renovating and building new sawmills in northern British Columbia and Alberta, which eventually led to the formation his own construction company. Working as a residential builder, Lorry has worked on projects ranging from single-family and multi-family to both industrial and commercial. Lorry eventually advanced into specialized markets, rebuilding hockey arena ice surfaces and plants. With his diverse project experience, critical thinking, and attention to planning Lorry is a true asset to the company and their clients.

Doug Avender
Site Superintendent

Doug has been in the construction industry for over 40 years. As a red seal journeymen carpenter he has been involved in many aspects of the construction industry, carpenter, log builder, timber framer, foreman, superintendent, and project manager.Doug brings a broad knowledge of residential, multi family, commercial and institutional construction. He received a highest honor diploma in real estate appraisal in 1996. He was site superintendent of the award winning Qualicum Landing, community of the year in British Columbia in 2013. His love of wood and passion for building has been lifelong.
